Jim Stringhams Medical Fund

Donation protected
Jim Stringham has been a dedicated Veterans Service Officer for Manistee County for the past five years.  Jim is a Vietnam veteran and has devoted a large amount of time and energy to helping the veterans in his community. In addition to the five years spent as the Director of the Veterans Affairs office in Manistee, he volunteered at the VFW Hall every Tuesday to aid veterans in getting their benefits. He also was the coordinator for the three Disabled American Veteran vans which run out of Manistee County to transport veterans to their medical appointments. Jim has contributed to the veterans in numberous other ways such as sitting on the board for the Community Endowment Scholarship Fund and being treasurer of the Local Disabled American Post 43. He has worked to help the veterans of Manistee County and now he needs your help.
He was recently diagnosed with ALS better known as Lou Gehrigs disease. This disease is causing the deterioration of Jim's ability to breath and therefore he is required to be on breathing equipment 24/7 and is now wheelchair bound.  He has been hospitalized 4 times since Nov 16, 2017 and been transported by ambulance 5 times. He is required to be in an acute care center now and the cost is substantial. This account is being established to help his family offset the cost of his care.
