Help Build Jill A Tiny House
We still need to get:
A shower enclosure
Interior walls insulation
Interior walls paneling
Stove pipe for wood stove
Thankfully there are still things I can do to get the house closer to finishing without purchasing more supplies, because we are tapped financially currently. We will get it done eventually, I'm hoping for the end of October.
My cousin and his wife have been working on donations all the way over in Minnesota, and have scored the most amazing triple paned windows! The entire house is being designed around them. We have about 10 weeks before the trailer will be ready, so now is the big push for donations of all/any kind. Thank you for supporting us in this wild adventure. We cannot wait to give my Mother the keys to her new home!
I wish she could stay in the rental forever, however this unit helps pay our mortgage for our home and property. We are taking a huge step of faith, knowing we are doing the right thing, so now I need to hussle it!
We hope to empty out the RV and get it on the market this week, but with all the snow we’ve been getting lately, it won’t be moving off the hill anytime soon. The funds for the RV, in addition to what we can raise by donations will go for her tiny house trailer to begin with. Then we will advance to PHASE 3-starting the build!
Thank you everyone who donated early, you so helped keep the faith and we love you for it!!!
I really need to get her out of that 5th wheel asap, and get it off our property because her current home is deteriorating at a rapid rate now.
I have estimated the largest cost of the overall project will be the trailer the tiny house gets built on. Lately I've been wishing I could just gut her current 5th wheel & use that trailer, but the reality is she needs her home until her new one is complete.
I feel like we are off to a great start! We already have the land, hook-ups, friends & family prayers & support, and funds are trickling in. I have a good amount of supplies on the property that will serve as salvage materials; some roofing, some lumber, a toilet, a sliding glass door, a picture window, odds & ends of hardware. It will be tiny house quilt made of hardware, a genuine labor of love.
My husband and I have built a 30 x 40 pole barn from the ground up, and have basic carpentry skills. I wanted to share with you all the original plans that got me thinking about building my mom a home of her very own.
I hope to purchase the trailer and begin framing it up as much as I can well before summer when my family comes to help. My goal is to have this complete by the end of summer 2017.
Thank you all for any support you are able to provide. Prayers, money, and sharing the cause are all appreciated.
Don't know why all my pics came in sideways, they are straight in my files, so my apologies.
