Displaced Pets Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to rescuing Pomeranians and other petite breeds located in NW Oregon and Washington. Our mission is to help Little Dogs, that are under 10 pounds, whether they come from the shelter or from an owner surrender.  Loss of income, home, illness, relocation, divorce, re-zoning are all things that happen in people's lives and we provide a safety net to keep these little guys from being turned into a shelter.   We have an active relationship with most of the shelters in our area allowing us to remove Little Dogs from an environment that can be terrifying to them.  We work to find these dogs loving new homes, and to provide interim socialization, training and Vet care that they need.

This year we are working to expand our Special Needs program.  This program consists of the care for seniors or medical needs dogs, as well as the medical assist program allowing us to help keep dogs in homes that just need a little extra help.

The $5000 will double our efforts from what we funded in 2014.

Two new special needs kids. These two Pom/Chi's arrived on Sunday. They have some severe skin issues. We have started them on fish and no-grain food and are going to be doing a skin scraping today then appropriate bathing and treatment for what we see.

Remember Emette the Toy Fox Terrier? He was our first Special Needs recipient in 2015. When Emette arrived we thought he had a prolapse rectum. It ended up being a benign tumor. His placement was a very special one as his owner adopted him without knowing or caring if the tumor was cancer. He is much loved and thriving in his home. This year we have already funded over $1500 in Special needs vet care so your donations are truly needed for supporting this portion of our program. If you prefer to use an alternate form of donation email me. christy@displacedpetsrescue.com

Here is our latest Senior Special Needs guy. He already has a great home to go to once we get him stabilized on his medications.

Dayton is an 11 year old senior with a severely enlarged heart. We visited the Vet yesterday and got him started on his medications. It will take a couple of weeks to get him leveled out and at that point he will be going to his new home. We expect about $250 to $300 for his vet care while he is with us.
