Jenny Gaffey's Medical Expense Assistance

Earlier this year, Jenny's world was turned upside down, and everything in her life changed.  She decided she wanted to move back to Michigan to be with her family, and was looking forward to a fresh start with Celena and Hayden.  After getting all settled in and learning her way around Clarkston, working on unpacking everything, the kids starting school, and were making new friends, Jenny's world was turned upside down again only two months later.  She was diagnosed with Stage 4 adenocarcinoma of the lung on October 9th.  There are metastasis in the liver, sternum, spine, and nine in the brain.  She ended up having several stokes, and a blood clot in her lung, and she was hospitalized for 10 days in early October.  A few days after she went home, she had a Gamma Knife radiation treatment to treat the tumors in her brain, and will find out in a couple months how successful that was.  Shortly after the Gamma Knife surgery, she started having symptoms of another stroke.  She had slurred speech, a sudden intense headache, numbness on the side of her face, and lost the ability to swallow.  A CT scan showed she did have another stroke.  She was admitted back into the hospital, and had several more of these episodes over the next couple weeks.  Further testing to find out her specific type of cancer showed she was ALK+, which turns out to be very good news because the treatment is supposed to be very effective.  The problem with this is, the cost to her will be $1,600 per month, just for this one medicine.  This added to all of her other medical costs is going to be overwhelming.  This is why this GoFundMe page was created, because Jenny will need help with all of these medical costs.  Any amount will be greatly appreciated, and will be very helpful in paying her expenses for her treatments.  Thank you for your support, and to everyone who has helped by bringing meals, driving the kids around, and just giving Jenny a call or text to cheer her up.  Jenny has remained very positive through all of this, and is very hopeful for a successful outcome.  Onward and upward, Jenny!!!
