A bit about me
I've been playing lacrosse on and off since 2002, between uni, work, and life, and started on the World Cup journey 2 years ago when I started the squad training program. When I'm not training, I keep myself busy with being a partner, a mum to a gorgeous baby boy, working at Aurecon, coaching lacrosse when I can, and trying to catch some sleep in between.
Why I love the fastest game on two feet
Lacrosse is an awesome sport to play - it's fast, physical and requires a fair bit of skill. On top of that, I love the game and the camaraderie that comes as being part of a great lacrosse team.
I'm a straight defender - I've been told that I play with a fair bit of intensity. I like to play to get the ball back. I love the teamwork and connections that are essential to solid team defence. I also don't mind the crowd pleasing coast to coast run to score from a turnover, but very happy to hand off to one of our awesome midfield attackers to finish the job our defence started.

Journey to the World Cup
I started out in a humble arena - the mighty Adelaide University Lacrosse Club Penguins - I was recruited during Orientation Week, and quickly fell in love with the game and the people. It wasn't long before I had the privilege of playing for Wilderness Lacrosse, where some world class players introduced me to whole new level of lacrosse. At the same time I continued playing for and eventually started coaching my beloved penguins, leading us to back to back premierships. This was the icing on the cake to two Wilderness premierships under my belt. I've played for the senior South Australian Team in 3 national tournaments and achieved 2 national all star selections.
I now live in Wellington and have been humbled by the small, but passionate group of lacrossers who remind me why I play lacrosse. The awesome Wellington Stingers punch above their weight and always make me proud and I feel privileged to coach the senior and junior teams.
I'm honoured to be selected in the 2017 New Zealand World Cup team. We're heading to the World Cup in July at Guildford, south of London. This event is the pinnacle of women's lacrosse on the world stage and I’m privileged to be part of a dedicated group of coaches and players with such an awesome team spirit. A huge highlight for me has been the experience of being gifted our lacrosse haka and thevisits to the Ruapotaka Marae. It's been a really special experience and I’ve learned about Maori and New Zealand culture and the experience has brought us together as a united and strong team.
Why Go Fund Me
I'm looking for your support as I prepare for and undergo the final weeks of training. I've been self funded along this journey to the World Cup which started 2 years ago, and don't get paid to play or coach (I love it!!). The reality is that it's been a huge financial and emotional commitment. Our little family has paid for all of my travel, accomodation and training costs in the lead up to London. Now we've got $10k to go to cover my flights, accomodation in the athletes' dorm and entry fees to the games. I have received so much emotional support from my partner, have had very understanding colleagues, and supportive friends here in Wellington and back in Adelaide. It would be awesome if you could support me and our team and show your love of women's lacrosse, women's sport, lacrosse, or me :)
