Jessica’s Journey

Jessica is a mom of the two most adorable kids, Korbin and Kora. She is also a loving wife to her amazing husband Shane.
Her heart of gold and love of life & laughter has made her a dear friend to so many.

Jessica’s Journey started on October 17th, 2013.  While pregnant with her daughter Kora; Jessica was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer know as glioblastoma. The fight in her set in immediately as she underwent surgery to remove the tumor, chemo and radiation all while pregnant.  During this time Jessica ALWAYS remained positive and fought cancer full on.

Her daughter Kora was born, happy and healthy on March 3rd, 2014; a true second blessing in Jessica and Shane’s life.

For the past 5 years, Jessica has partnered  with Head for The Cure, to inspire so many others suffering from brain cancer and bring awareness to the cause. She is a true inspiration and a testament to so many that you can beat this ugly cancer.

On October 15, 2019, shortly following her 5 year celebration of being cancer free; Jessica experienced a seizure and received the devastating news that the cancer has returned.

Jessica beat this before and she is ready to fight and beat this cancer again, with the love and support of all of us!!

We have set this page up to help jessica with expenses as she will be traveling to MD Anderson to meet with the top oncologist to discuss the best surgery/treatment plan.

We also would appreciate you sharing Jessica’s story and keeping her and her beautiful family in your prayers.

Xo God Bless

Treatment Update: Jess will be starting a new immunotherapy clinical trial. This will take place at the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland, and she will begin treatment at the end of May. While Jess is very grateful to have a few of the treatment expenses and airfare covered by NIH, there will still be some financial burden, including room and board during her stay. Treatment duration will depend on how Jess reacts and how the MRI’s look, but we are hopeful she will be in the 90% of patients who don’t experience side effects.

Special thanks to Matt Anthony at Head for the Cure for his assistance in getting Jess in so quickly for an appointment.  Please continue to keep Jess and her family in your thoughts, send prayers, offer any financial assistance if you are able, and help spread the word about our group.  Jessica’s warriors has grown to over 550 members and we truly appreciate your continued support as we help Jessica fight her battle!

Jessica’s journey began in 2013 when she was diagnosed with a rare form of glioblastoma while pregnant with her daughter Kora. She stayed positive while enduring brain surgery, chemo and radiation during the first part of her fight.

In October 2018, the second part of her battle began. After Jessica had a seizure, her doctors found another tumor – this time, an inoperable one. Jessica has already undergone another round of radiation and chemo and is currently exploring multiple treatment options.

Recently, a new tumor was also found on Jessica’s brainstem and, although she is continuing to stay positive, this is where her warriors come in!

Now more than ever, Jessica needs us to come together, share her story and share memories to lift her up during this challenging time.

Jess successfully completed radiation at MD Anderson and her and her family are happy to be back home and settled in. They are currently getting back in to their daily routines of school and work.

Jess had her follow up oncologist visit with KU on Thursday to get the results from her radiation treatments. The MRI results were exceptionally better than the one she had in December. The doctors were all very impressed and could not explain the huge amount of improvement in such a short span of time.

Jess and family have truly been blessed with these results. She is a true warrior and will continue her treatment journey by starting a four medication chemo cocktail in the upcoming weeks. Please continue to pray for her and her family as she moves into the next round of treatment. The ongoing support is deeply appreciated!
