Jessica's Dream and Yadi's Yummies

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jessica and I have a dream. Well actually a couple dreams but I'll explain all that. You see I started my own company about a year ago because I was having a hard time finding a job that worked with my special needs. I have a rare genetic syndrome called Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome and because of this the way I learn is different and employers weren't willing to work with me. With some help I decided to start Yadi’s Yummies because I love dogs and enjoy making dog treats.

My business has done really well this year. I sell treats through my website, at local events and have recently started selling in a few local stores. This is so exciting but it also means I need a bigger production area and commercial equipment to keep up with the demand for my treats. This is where you come in. I really need help purchasing the equipment like a commercial, oven, mixer, dough sheeter, etc. If you can contribute to my campaign any amount would be greatly appreciated and would help me fulfill my dreams.
So what are my dreams......I want to be able to help dogs who have been abused and/or abandoned to get medical care they need.  I donate 10% of all my proceeds to a fund to help dogs in shelters with medical care. The other dream I have is to have a place where people with disabilities can work. I know first hand what it's like to sit home with nothing to do and how that makes you feel. I have lots of my friends who want to work and who have  talents they aren't able to use because they haven't been given a chance. I want to give them that chance and make Yadi's Yummies a place where people with disabilities can work, be appreciated and have fun.

The story of how Yadi's Yummies began:
Yadi’s Yummies officially started in the Spring of 2016, however, the real story started a couple years before that when we adopted Yadi and Mickey (a feline family member) from an animal shelter. We already had a dog and cat at home, but these two needed to be rescued and they needed to join our family.

Yadi is a lab/pittie mix and is the first rescue dog we have ever owned. Rescuing Yadi opened a whole new world for us and we started volunteering at the local non-kill shelter in our area. We have had a lot of fun with Yadi and he has shown us in so many ways how much love and personality a “shelter” dog can bring to your life.

Annie is our other dog and she is a Newfoundland. 2015 was a rough year for Annie. She had to have three major surgeries in a nine-month period and this definitely took a toll on the whole family. Annie is doing great now but her experience is also part of our story because through all of this we learned two things. First, it’s really important to feed your pets wholesome and nutritious foods to keep them as healthy as possible. Second, surgery is expensive-so expensive that some people may not be able to afford to get their pets the medical help they need. This got us thinking that it would be nice to start a fund to help dogs who need medical help when there is no one to pay for it. We also thought it would be fun to make healthy treats for our dogs and maybe friend’s and family’s dogs.

So Yadi’s Yummies was born. Yadi’s Yummies are homemade treats for your dogs that are made with healthy, yummy ingredients that your dog will love. We use only human grade ingredients in our treats so feel free to try them yourself if your pup is willing to share. A portion of the proceeds from each treat sold will go to Annie’s fund. Annie’s fund is a medical fund set up to help treat abandoned and abused dogs that would otherwise not be able to get the care they need.
