Help Give Hope To Uganda

Hi Everyone,
My name is Jess and im 25 years old. After spending 10 years stuck in a dark place of addiction, with no self worth and very little hope I found the Esther Foundation. They are a residential recovery program based in Perth with the core aim of restoring lives of women struggling with life controlling issues, which they certainly have done with me. I am now 17 months clean, am loving life and have endless opportunities through Esther.
In October 2017 I travelled to war torn east Africa to paint houses at an orphanage, housing orphans and widows. This was through the Fair Tradie Project (FTP), a not for profit organisation which builds homes for those in poverty. To be able to impact the lives of people with nothing; by painting and making their newly built homes bright and homely brings great joy to my heart. Something so small to us means so much to them.
I have dreamed of being able to help the African people since I was a little girl. I would never have imagined this amazing, meaningful opportunity to come up. I was so impacted the first time I travelled to Africa I knew I had to continue to give back with the skill set I have to offer. I know with the support I received from Esther helping me I cannot sit back and not help others.
I can honestly say that helping those less fortunate than myself has been a fundamental part of my recovery.
I know with your support in helping me to continue to follow my dream in helping others where I possibly can means you are not only giving the children hope you are also giving me another opportunity to give back. The time has come to return to the orphanage on February 22nd to finish the project.
My goal is to raise $1500 to cover flights to Africa. I can't express the extent of the impact this journey has had on me and I hope others will be impacted by my story too. If you would like to be part of my journey in changing the lives of those in poverty, any donations would be greatly appreciated.
