Jens Precision Med Genomic Fund

Jens Daniel Hildreth was recently sent to Michigan the last week of October 2016  for routine scans and bone marrow aspirations. We recently learned that his cancer has returned and that certain markers were elevated. They informed us they would like to have him do an "ICE" treatment which consists of abbreviated chemos. The 3 in combination with each other run for an hour each over a span of 3 days. They are pretty intense chemos and in theory should kill the bad cells.  They are keeping us in Michigan for at least 6 weeks to have Jens be close to needed blood and platelets once his counts drop after chemo. Once the counts come up again they would like to rescan and do another set of bone marrow aspirations to see if the "ICE" treatment helped or not. If it has they will put Jens on a new trial which will consist of a chemo drug that can be given orally and another that will have to be IV infused, which means every 21 days we will have to go to Anchorage to have his IV infusion treatments administered. We all learned of this suddenly and unexpectdly. We are asking for any donation amounts to help us while we are here in Michigan with Jens and to aid in needed future travel needs associated with his required medical needs. We appreciate everyones kindness and help all along his journey since the beginning back in 2014 when he was initially diagnosed at age 4. Most recently, Jens has finished up Cycle 8 of his chemo trial and we are to head to Michigan his treatment facility to where they can administer a deep needle bone biospy to find his bio markers and collaborate with a board of doctors from around the world to alter medicines he currently is on. The thing with a "trial" is after awile the medicine does not work effectively as it once did for the body outsmarts the meds and therefore it becomes uneffective and you are forced to change gears. We will await his latest scans and results and pray that the new meds work. We are out of work as we are with Jens during the summer and his father is his full time caregiver indefinitly. We ask that while you make a donation for Jens you also say a prayer and continue to pray for us as a family and for Jens to be cured! And while all may not be able to make big donation any amount is appreciated! Thank you and continuing to care and partake in our familys struggle.
