Jennifer's Battle with ALS

On July 5th, 2019, Jennifer and her family received the devastating diagnosis that she has ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), which is the death of motor neurons that control voluntary muscles. It is characterized by having stiff muscles, muscle twitching and gradually worsening weakness due to the failing of the body's muscle system. The disease results in difficulty walking, speaking, swallowing and breathing. 

Jennifer is a 49 year old wife and mother of a 12 year old beautiful girl.  She has been a Spanish teacher for over 20 years.  She has always lived her life actively, excelling in both track at Millersville University and tennis after college.  

Unfortunately, Jennifer is not going to be able to go back to work as she fights this disease.  Their family will be missing her paycheck to pay their regular bills and will accrue additional debt as she pays for her physical therapy treatments and other costs associated with ALS.
