Jeffery and Patricia Dawson

SFC Jeff Dawson recently sustained serious injuries in combat overseas. He is currently suffering grave complications from a gunshot wound -- not only is he fighting for his life, but he may be facing permanent complications from his injuries. The situation is still developing, but right now we are being told that he is paralyzed. Whether this is a temporary condition due to swelling around the spinal cord, or a permanent severing of the spinal cord (rendering him paralyzed from the chest down for life) -- we do not know. It's too early to tell.
Whatever happens, Jeff is going to have a long, costly recovery.
Jeff is a highly decorated Explosive Ordnance Disposal soldier -- he earned the nation's second highest award for valor, the Distinguished Service Cross, for his heroism in 2013 in Afghanistan. That was not the only night he saved the lives of fellow service members in combat; Jeff has given over and over for his countrymen, and now he has given more. The Dawsons have a long journey ahead of them in the coming days of recovery. The Army will assist with Jeff's medical care, flight back to the US, as well as Patricia's flight to join him. However, there will be plenty of unforeseen miscellaneous expenses that the couple will need assistance with. Things such as food, gas, additional airfare, lodging, cab fare, bills, etc. Please join me in showing support, so that Patricia and Jeff can focus on healing. The last thing that they need to fret about is finances.
Rest assured, many of the people giving here will be the family and friends of those he has touched, either in combat overseas or back home.
