Jed Zelie's Medical Expenses

On January 7, 2017 Jed Zelie and his family received the challenging news that Jed has Inoperable, Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Jed has always been an active and healthy young man. He is a high school freshman at Mt. Abram Regional High School in Strong Maine. He loves sports and plays soccer, baseball, and basketball. Jed has a great sense of humor and always has a tendency to say or do something to make people laugh or smile.
In recent weeks Jed developed a cold that just would not go away, after weeks of fighting this cold and noticing a small lump on his chest his mother Pam took him to the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital @ Maine Medical Center where the received his diagnosis. Because of the location of the lymphoma Jed cannot have surgery to remove the cancer and so he will need to undergo rigirous chemo therapy and steroid treatments for the next two years.
These treatments will not only be expensive but also require the family to travel over 2 hours each way every week to and from the children's hospital, which means the family will incur not only the cost of the treatments but also missed time at work and travel expenses. It is our goal as Jed's family to raise as much money as possible to offset the costs to the family.
