Jeannie Grassi Fundraiser
Donation protected
On Thursday night, April 18, Jeannie Grassi's condo building caught on fire on Bainbridge Island. The fire started in the unit below her and smoke and flames raced up to her top unit. Three amazing young men from the community, Derek Villanueva, Daniel Warner, and Kristopher Erwin saved her before the firefighters arrived.
Jeannie wrote "the place was in blazes and filling with black smoke. I just barely got out."
Sadly, her neighbor below lost his life and his wife has been hospitalized.
Many of you know Jeannie through her musical connections on the island, and others have hired her to tune your pianos. She has pretty much lost everything and funds raised will go a long way in helping her secure housing, furnishings and clothing.
She is also looking for a small apartment or housing that is dog friendly, with a kitchen, to stay long term while her condo is being rebuilt. So if you hear of anything, let her know. She is currently living in a motel thanks to the fire department but she and her wonderful dog Daphne need space and privacy.
It takes a village.
