Puppies are all safe at home!
I have listed the article that they had published that is full of lies and slander.
Your views of breeding are your own. Just as many have their opinions of "retail theft" and these distasteful "rescues".
So happy you have the puppies back home-Congrats
Congratulations to the Bass Family, the mamma dog and all her pups, and everyone else impacted by this effort. I am SO glad that the puppies are back! I hope their health and emotional status wasn't harmed too greatly by what they were put through.
Let's just hope they didn't catch coccidia, parvo, or some other disease those rescues foster as well!!!
Thank God, I usually don't get involved in someone else's business... That was so wrong in so many ways. Congratulation's! Take that money & sue for defamation, slander & all the time lost socializing & raising your pups properly. I bet your Momma dog was a wreck! Again....congrats!
This is a good reminder to all folks out there. The radical animal rights movement wants to end all dog/animal breeding, ownership, hunting, consumption, entertainment, zoos, circuses, any and all animal enterprise is under attack by these extremists who believe in total animal liberation. To them, all dog breeders are that derogatory breeder hate slur. They use the term indiscriminately to demonize and vilify breeders regardless of quality and quantity. This case is a prime example. Do you seriously think this family with one dog and one litter a year qualifies as one of those types of substandard breeders? I think not, yet people have been conditioned by animal rights propaganda that when we hear that highly emotive term it triggers our emotional response and lose the ability to think rationally. That's why so many people spew hate on here. They aren't thinking rationally, but rather acting on pure emotion. The Bass family did nothing wrong. The officer and the rescue, acting on emotion, wanting to get an "illegal, evil breeder" and steal the puppies were the wrong doers. Based on their actions is what led me to my conclusion. I am glad a wrong has been righted and the officer was found to be acting on her own and not that of the department. So please, to the public, breeders are not the enemy. We provide quality pets to people that enjoy them and make them part of their family. This is the US and people should always have a choice on where to obtain a pet. We should not be forced to "adopt" a shelter dog. So many "rescues" are in it for the money and are nothing more than "pet flippers". Do not be emotionally manipulated when it comes to falling for the sappy commercials on TV begging for donations to "help the animals". These groups are multi-million dollar companies that do very little to help animals, but all about taking away your rights to own them. If you truly want to help animals, donate and volunteer locally. Please do not support laws just because they contain that breeder hate slur. Read the fine print. Feel good laws are based on emotions, not actual expert animal husbandry principles. And finally, a big thank you to the Mayor, City Council, DA, Law Enforcement and others who fought to return the puppies and right the wrong to a certain extent. Take care Bass family and again Congratulations!
So some of these clowns think that a piece of paper "license" that anyone can get for 25.00 is the only difference between a "puppy mill" and an ethical breeder? Sad, very sad. Glad you got your pups back and the anxious families they are going home to will finally get their chosen pups. Score one against unlawful seizure.
yay! /i am so glad you got them back
Jeffrey Eccles...REALLY? One litter in a year a "puppy mill" makes? Bull. Selling puppies on contracts, following them for a lifetime...doesn't get much more ethical than that. The "rescue" was going to sell them, and they had zero upfront costs. And who do you think can reliably follow pups for a lifetime and help with issues? A "rescue" that has by their own count sold 400+ dogs in the last 18 months or a family who has sold 8? Do the math.
I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am to hear the news. Congratulations to you and your family. I was looking on PetLaw to hear more whe I just received your email. So glad to hear from you with this news!
Congratulations Bass Family! I'm so glad to hear that justice was served. I hope you will one day heal from this horrendous ordeal and can put this behind you. Good luck in all your future endeavors and thank you again for your service to our country!
Its funny that already there are trolls. You do not faze us. And yes we do have our breeders license now. We righted a wrong and this should have never happened. Each of these dogs have approved loving homes. And in the future watch what you say...I hear slander can get you tied up very easy....just ask the rescue that started all of this. I hear they aren;t doing to well....hmmm Karma much? hahahahaha
Woohoo POS Puppymill breeder wins again! Hope the money you make on the pups can pay for a clean conscience. Hopefully the next little you will take this incident and do the right thing and become an ethical breeder. I hope some of tgat military honor you had can shine through again and you'll do right by these dogs.
I am glad that in the end justice did prevail. You do not arrest someone for violating a city ordinance and take their property without due process.
Yay puppies are back home !!
Congratulations, John and Stevie Bass! As my dad, a fellow Marine, always said, "When you're right, you're right." And you were right!
I am thrilled to hear you have YOUR puppies back! God bless you and yours! Justice prevailed!
Justice has been served.
The puppies are home !!!!!!! Yeah!!!!
The Bass Family is very touched by all the support they have been receiving. Thank You to everyone that has assisted them.
I'm waiting until i get paid tomorrow to donate, but wanted to leave a comment. I am completely amazed at how ignorant the supporters of the sham rescue group are about the basics of puppy rearing and immunity. I show dogs, i breed dogs, i inspect animals for a living, and it's an absolute truth that the time of greatest risk to puppies is between 6 and 9 weeks old. Maternal immunity is wearing off, vaccines have to be given after that immunity is mostly gone, and then take days to take effect. I would never go to a dog show when i had puppies between 6 and 9 weeks. NO ONE who cared for puppies would walk in and remove then from their home at that age, and put them in an environment that is not carefully controlled, away from other dogs, and people handling other dogs. And that is just the physical risk. Removing them from their mother at that age totally screws up their social development. They won't learn bite inhibition, they won't learn to take corrections, they can't learn the critical elements of dealing with other dogs in a socially acceptable way unless they are kept together with the mom and each other, which can have a lasting effect the rest of their lives. Unless the puppies were at risk of their lives, there is no excuse for subjecting them to this stupidity at 6 weeks. Not to mention what this has done to the bitch, having her pups yanked at that age. Surely all you activists supporting the sham rescue know that dogs have feelings too? My girls would suffer dreadfully if pups were yanked from them at that age. Over and above the fact that this was an illegal seizure, it was done in such a way to maximize the damage to the dogs involved. I feel for the family, but i feel more for the dogs. Those who claim they care totally screwed up, and have no excuse for such ignorant and stupid behavior, except to grab profit while they can at the expense of animal lives. Do your research before you support the actions that were taken by the sham rescue group and animal control. They were so focused on stealing these pups, they must have never even considered the harm they were doing to them. Or it just didn't matter to them.
