Save the Horses!

Donation protected
On October 17, 2017, at Siksika Nation there was a devastating wildfire disaster fueled by a 100 km+ wind. It was so enormous, deadly and catastrophic that it destroyed and burnt everything in it's path. Unfortunately Bob Crowchief’s horse pasture was directly in it's path and it was an almost total destruction of damage, a complete dead zone! All grasslands, tree's and brush etc. which his horses need to survive we’re completely burnt. He barely saved his screaming and terrified horses. He cut barbed wire fencelines, and couldn't even see the horses and he was almost overcome with smoke inhalation. All he could hear was the horses screaming as he shouted out to them. He managed to save them from being burnt alive. However 90% of the pasture was destroyed and their was no grazing land left going into the fall and winter. So, they weren't prepared for this heavy snowfall winter. What makes it worse is by the time the horses dig through the deep snow; all they find is burnt ground and nothing to fill their empty belly's. Bob has been trying to continue to save them, but has lost about 15+ horses so far due to starvation caused by the devastating wildfire disaster. It is heartbreaking for him to come across one of his horses who has perished; they are his heart and soul! He is desperate to save the remaining herd of 45 horses and requires help to purchase hay bales and feed for the next 4 months. If you can find it in your heart to help, Bob would be forever grateful!
