$935 of $5,000 goal

Created August 31, 2017
I'm Angela Compton of Fredericksburg, Texas my brother's are Jeremy Carter also of Fredericksburg and Brandon Carter of Aransas Pass, Tx, our parents Sherri snd Roger Roscoe from Port Aransas lost everything in Hurricane Harvey.  To be honest we have been able to salvage a few boxes of stuff, but that's all. They are safe We are grateful they left but we are devestated for them and obviously so are a lot of you! The out pouring of love and prayers has been over whelming. Mom told me today she feels calm and ok but we know from Philippians 4;7 HE promises peace that surpasses understanding. So keep the prayers coming please! Mom and Roger wont ask for help y'all, so much so that we (their kids) are having to force our help on them! They don't want to burden anyone and just bear and endure. SO we are asking for them. Many people have asked us to do a fund me and many have asked how they can help and what they need. Honstely y'all, the best possible help woukd be a monetary one, seeing as they do not know where they willl be living they really do not have a place for physical dontions yet, we had to find a place to store the little bit we can salvage. Any money we recieve on this campaigne will go 100% directly to them into thier account and will be used in the rebuilding of their lives.

Also Mom said she is getti g 100s of call, texts, and emails a day with love and support. Please understand they are working knee deep in debris in the house and have no electricity to charge their phone so they lose battery quickly. They do appdeciate everyone's cocern, love, support, and prayers. But please understand they may not be able to get back to you right away. They are physically ok and even said they feel waves of blessings as they find special things among the rubble or looking at the town with people pouring in from every where and helping out strangers.
I've said it before and its still true now, we believe HIS word is true and despite our current situation all things work together for the good for those who love God according to Romans 8:28 We see kindness, compassion, giving, love ... all of these things are good and of God!

So, thank y'all for everything, please share this and maybe if you are considering donating to Harvey victims you will consider donating to our parents. Forgot to mention they are not covered under insurance. Here at least you can put a face with your help. May you all be blessed with much love and peace.

So, I just wanted to take a minute to say to you all that the outpouring of love and prayers we have received is nothing short of phenomenal. I am sorry I haven't responded to those who have reached out. This whole ordeal is so overwhelming and it honestly takes every minute to survive. We are blessed to have amazing friends, Jesse & Tiffiny, who sustained minimal damage to their home, but moderate damage to the property. The water came on early in their neighborhood and they have graciously opened their home to not only us, but 4 other adults and 2 more dogs. We are upbeat most of the time, I have a peace about me that only your prayers can explain. For EACH and EVERY one of you who have sent donations, not only to me, but to any of the affected areas, and to EACH and EVERY one who took a moment to say a prayer, God BLESS YOU. The devastation in our little town alone is enormous, I honestly cant even imagine the true magnitude. Please continue to pray for us, for our generous hosts, for all of Port Aransas and all of the Harvey victims. God is good all the the time.

UPDATE:

Yesterday the salvage effort was finished up at Mom and Rogers condo and today they both returned to work. Roger arrived to find only his manager there and was informed that everyone was laid off. That was a tough blow for him as he has been there a long time and his co-workers lover each other like family. They said they will rebuild but in the mean time they do not need to employee a staff. Needless to say today was a rough day.

Mom's job has been pretty unreasonable through this entire ordeal. Leading up to the hurricane they announced that if anyone decided to leave before a mandatory evacuation was declared they should just not come back. That left the employees with no time to prepare or take ANYTHING with them. Then they could not understand why she was not there and available immediately following them allowing people on the island- as if they didn't realize she was evacuated. When she returned to the island and discovered that she had experienced a complete loss they did not want her to take the few days to salvage her own life. Instead chastising her and in my opinion harassed her about why she wasn't at work when the other staff had been able to return. Remember she is an on-site manager so it's not like they didn't realize the state of her home or lack there of one. It breaks my heart that they haven't shown an ounce of compassion during the worst time of their lives, never even asking them simply if they were ok.

All-in-all Mom and Roger are in good spirits for the most part, They are grateful for all the support and love coming from all over, from old friends and new, perfect strangers and good Samaritans, from near and far! Hopefully in the coming days they can start to make some decisions about where and how to start setting up life. It has really been a moment by moment thing since last week and we are working toward day by day and will hopefully soon reach a week by week plan.

Lots of people have asked what they need. At a point they will need everything pretty much, but they are not to a point yet that they have a place to put any items. Thank you to everyone who has offered love, I cannot express how grateful we are for it! Blessings! Angela
