Jasper's Veterinary Treatment

I first found Jasper as a kitten outside of my house and took him in to feed him and warm him up. He instantly became the most affectionate cat I've ever seen and hasn't left since. He's an adventurous outdoor loving cat that leaves me mice at the door almost every morning before I head to work. This Thanksgiving night I was home and heard what I thought was him purring coming into my room. I turned to look at him and saw him almost dragging himself towards my bed and collapsing. What I thought was him purring was him actually struggling to breathe with what looked like fur matted with blood on one side of him. So in a panic I looked up the nearest emergency 24/7 veterinary hospital (Boston Rd) and rushed over there as quickly as I could. They instantly took him in and started trying to diagnose what happened. After roughly an hour they told me he was running a fever of 104°  with abcsesses around puncture wounds near the neck line from an apparent injury that went unnoticed. The cost of treatment for Jasper to have a chance of surviving is anywhere from $600-$1,800 ranging from at home treatment to intensive hospital care.
