Jaspers Battle With Cancer

Donation protected

Dear Friends. We as family were trying to wait until we had a positive prognosis before letting you know, and this is definitely not how we planned to make the news public, however the situation has changed considerably this week. On the 23rd of August last year my brother Jasper was diagnosed with late stage Pancreatic cancer. He began Chemotherapy in October and the latest scan in December showed that, against the odds, he was holding the cancer steady and there had been no change or progression in the last 3 months. This week though we were informed that that is no longer the case and things are progressing far faster than we anticipated so now the gloves are off and we are trying every treatment we possibly can. I'm in the process of trying to sell off my instruments and studio equipment so if you see anything on the BellBird website please contact me through FB. Jasper is trying to sell his house but at this point things are still yet to be finalised and we've been informed this week that, if conditions don't drastically change, then by the time it is it may well be too late.  Our dear friend Karl Broadie was tragically taken by the same beast not long ago and I'm sure you're all aware of how aggressive and cruel Pancreatic Cancer can be. That is why we need your help. Anything you can do or spare will be so greatly appreciated. Jasper is so young. He's such a beautiful man. I still can't believe it, none of us can, but we are not giving up hope and we are all determined to fight with all that we have.  Also any messages of support you can send Jas will definitely help lift his spirits and, even though he is unlikely to respond immediately, please know that any wishes and love you are sending will be so very gratefully and warmly received. If you'd like to come and see Jas please contact me and we will try and arrange things. His physical condition changes daily because he is getting quite weak but we will try to do what we can to make it happen.  If you would like to send anything like flowers or cards please message me and I'll send you our address. I believe in my heart that any chance at all, no matter how small, means there is still hope. Thank you in advance for everything. Love and wishes to you. Jay, Jasper, Janet and Orchard Somerville-Collie.
