Jared Petersen Heart Transplant

Donation protected
My son was born with a congenital heart defect  Tricuspid Atresia in 1972.  He has had five open heart surgeries from 1974 to 2001 (Waterstun Shunt, Fontan, three revisions with a bidirectional Glenn and an Intra-atrial conduit) and many other procedures.  His heart is now failing.  He has been going to St. Luke's in Kansas City and has been going through the process of being put on the transplant list.  We just heard that they have said no to the list there.  They just didn't feel that they had the knowledge to help him because of the previous surgeries and the scar tissue built up through time.  The procedure will be very complicated and expensive.  Both him and his wife are on disability and the Dr's  recommended going to Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles, as they have had success with working with Congenital hearts.  It would cost more than they could afford between the travel and overnight stays as they are in southern Missouri, along with with the medical costs.  Jared is married and has three children and a  grand daughter.  He had his own auto repair shop but had to retire because of his health.  He was born and raised in Luverne, Minnesota.  He and his wife live currently live in Mount Vernon, Missouri.
Thank you to all who support him!  If you can not monetarily, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
