Jan has struggled with Multiple Sclerosi for 42 years.
The curse of the neurological disease has left her with the loss of sight in an eye, from the beginning, and loss of feeling in fingers and toes. Other damages from future episodes have resulted in partial loss of many parts of the body . Walking has been increasingly difficult to the point of the use of a wheel chair is needed most of the time.
The cost of treatng and dealing with MS is very high. Jan has struggled to work as long as possible even with the disabilities to contrbute to our family's income. She was mother to our two boys working hard to keep up with all that "motherhood" brings. Over the years a huge amount of our income has been put toward the treatment and care. Now we are on Medicare and we pay the cost of supplemental and prescription drug insurances. Even with these high costs we tried to keep up with the cost of dental needs. Sadly our ability to keep up has fallen off and Jan needs total extractions. Teeth are broken and in danger of infection. She takes an antibiotic for urinary problems that wards off infections for now
Dental situations are not covered by our insurances. Aspen Detal has given an estimate of$6000.00 for the extractions.
We have a 1996 Subatu Lgacy Station Wagon that covers our needs to go to appointments. No telling how long this car will last.We are looking for a additional amount for a used car like the Subaru Staion Wagon to keep us going.
Her situaion is becoming urgent with winter coming on and the question of the teeth becoming infected.
