She was transferred to MD Anderson from Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. She is currently undergoing a 28 day induction of chemo. She fit into a clinical trial so a 3rd drug was added to her treatment which has been proven to drastically increase her remission rate. After her 28 day induction she will have another bone marrow to see if she is in remission or if another induction period is required. After the induction she will have around 5-8 treatments done which will be on a monthly basis (so 5-8 months). She will be having blood work done every week for 3 times a week when she is not receiving the chemo.
While she has EXCELLENT insurance (thank you State Farm!) there are a lot of out of pocket expenses she will be incurring while on her journey to a Cancer FREE life! Driving back and forth to MD Anderson, parking, food, hotels, etc are all expenses not covered by insurance.
Not only are we asking for donations, but also for prayers. Everyday mom starts out saying 'Today is going to be another great day'. She has such a positive attitude , I swear she is the strongest person I know, but I know her strength and postive attitude comes from the Good Lord. She says she can feel the prayers, and I know that's what keeps her high and lifted up. Please continue to pray for us throughout this journey. We know we 'can do all things through Christ who gives us strength' Philippians 4:13 and everyday she is proof of it!
We will continue to keep our eyes peeled for Gods goodness that awaits ahead of us and the rainbows that are to come. Even though we will see many storms before the rainbows, we will stand together as a team fighting this ugly disease, and because of that, we have such a strong fighting chance. We are all in this together and with your support in prayer and contributions we can fight this cancer. Gods plan is better than ours and we just have to remain faithful to Him and by His strength, His love, and His faithfulness we will overcome this obstacle and all come out stronger, more faithful and Christlike people.
Trust in The Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways submit to Him, and he will make your paths straight. proverbs 3:5-6
But those who hope in The Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Fear not for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Thank you, we love you, and may God Bless you!

My mom has been doing pretty great the past few weeks. She had a bone marrow almost 30 days ago and it took a while to finally get all of the results, but we were able to hear the news that the aspiration/biopsy is not showing any leukemia!! Also, most importantly the mutation that she had, the reason she had to have the stem cell transplant, is not showing up either!! This is all such GREAT news! Also, she is showing to be 98% grafted, meaning her body has taken the transplant 98% and she is not showing any signs of rejection!! Amen, amen, amen!!! They say it can take up to a year to be 100% grafted, but this is already so awesome for her to be 98% grafted at this point! She remains at her apartment in Houston until sometime in December. She is just having to go to the clinic once per week starting next week, which equals she is making great progress!! She will have another bone marrow aspiration/biopsy sometime next week, she will have one every 3 months for a little while just to continue to follow up on everything. She is still having a little trouble bringing up her platelets to ‘normal’ so she is going to be getting some platelet transfusions and an IVIG infusion in hopes for her body to start stimulating platelet production. It is important that her platelets rise soon, because she is needing to start a low dose chemo pill. She will have to be on this pill for up to a year and basically it is for the 2% she isn’t grafted. Since she isn’t 100% grafted, there is a possibility that the leukemia and mutation can come back in that 2%. So right now if you would just pray that her platelets come up and stabilize and that she continues to fight the tough fight of kicking cancer out of the picture! We appreciate all of the texts, calls, and prayers. They do no go unnoticed! God has a special plan for all of us. One that we don’t always understand or anticipate, but if we can remain true that His plan is always greater than our own, and know that He will lead us down, maybe not what we consider the ‘easy path’, but the path that is right for His will.
And we know that in all things God works for the Good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
"She is clothed with strength and dignity and laughs without fear of the future" Proverbs 31:25

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
This is a big week for my mom. In Tuesday she will get a new port. This was needed for the stem cell transplant which should take place sometime next week. She will be admitted to the hospital for her 30 day stay for the stem cell transplant. Chemo should start on Thursday and will be a 4 or 5 day process. The next day or so the stem cells taken from her sister Joni will be put in her via her port. Thanks again to one of her Angels, Joni, for her stem cells. What a beautiful gift you are giving our mom.
My mom needs lots of extra prayer in the next few weeks. pray that this horrible disease is replaced with the heathy cells from Joni and that moms body accepts them with open arms.
I will keep you all posted! Thanks for all you have done for her. Moms loves every single one of you reading this and appreciates your prayers!
