Help Jana Epstein shoulder the pain

Donation protected
Most of you are probably not aware of the pain our friend Jana Epstein has endured, because she is stoic as hell and one strong woman. Her shoulder is wrecked, dislocated, nerves a shambles and she needs our help. She wrote a detailed description of the situation (see below).

So Please Help.

She managed to convince the surgeon and physical therapist to reduce the fees down to $25,000. She is going under the knife at the end of the month and can't handle  this expense on her own.

We've been sucking down top-shelf at the Epstein Saloon for free for years. Your tab is due.

Multiply the tab by five? You're a saint. Pretend you were just drinking $2 sodas at happy hour? You're still a saint. Didn't drink? Come on, enough with the metaphors and just tip the waitress. Everything helps.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you

Jana’s story; " I am an artist. A right-handed artist. I dislocated my right shoulder on New Year’s Day, a shoulder that was initially injured many years ago and never properly repaired. This dislocation was so severe the ER doctors had to administer anesthesia to put my joint back into place.

This incident has been catastrophic. I have little use of my right arm and shoulder due to paralysis and nerve damage. I learned that the auxiliary nerve was so severely damaged, surgery had to wait until the nerve regenerated on its own. This is a slow process that has been extremely frustrating and has left me in limbo until now.

I’ve been a participating artist in juried art shows for 20 years. My Art and the Art Shows are my livelihood and my world. Despite three shoulder surgeries over the years, despite my ever-present and severe pain, I’ve continued to create my art as well as drive, set up, and function properly in my booth because — at least —I still had full range of motion.

I have been trying to find a way to work this year, but it has been impossible. As you can imagine I am completely devastated.

The good news is I just learned that the nerve is healing and I am cleared to have a complex new type of reconstructive shoulder surgery. It is scheduled for May 22nd. The recovery is 6 months to a year.

I want nothing more than to be out there showing and sharing my work. I hope that you can understand the terrible position that I find myself in. I appreciate and thank you for your time as I know it is valuable. I am facing a long recovery but am up for the challenge. I hope to be back better than ever in 2019 showing my work, doing what I love, and earning a living again. "
