If you haven't met Jamie Evans Wade, you haven't met one of the sweetest, nicest and personable people one could know. I have had the pleasure of working with her at United Airlines in Chicago and also become close friends as she shares her time in Chicago with me as my roommate. Everyone who knows Jamie knows her only as the most positive, fun-loving person who never complains, even under the most dire circumstances. This is why what has happened in the last two weeks has been not only devastating but almost unbelievable.
Suffering from a sinus infection may seem normal, but not in Jamie's case. From a simple sinus infection to a serious sepsis incident to a disease known as Potts Puffy Tumor....Jamie has recently undergone the most serious of emergency surgeries you could ever imagine. On Monday, September 17th, an MRI indicated Jamie would undergo extensive surgery in and around the sinus cavities of the forehead and in the vicinity of the brain...a diagnosis which stunned us all. The acceleration of this infection could be fatal and therefore no time was wasted in scheduling her surgery. Tuesday afternoon Jamie would have to deal with a diagnosis and surgical procedure beyond anyone's imagination.
With lots of prayers, and skilled doctors, she has come out of the surgery successfully and her prognosis is good, but there is a long, long road ahead for her complete recovery.
This is where we need your help. Jamie's sick-time was used in a surgery which took place over a year ago and therefore she has no reserves to assist her in completing her recovery time. She will not be able to commute to work for quite some time, and she has two young beautiful children who rely on her for their support. I know my United Family will be there for her and I am reaching out to all of you as well as those who are her friends to donate a small stipend on her behalf to help along in these next stressful months ahead.
