Jamie Lovato never had any medical issues or health problems until the day she experienced what she described as “the worst headache of her life.”  On Monday June 17, 2019, she was preparing for the much-anticipated move into her new house. While working to get things together, she felt a strong pain in her head, that she could only describe as feeling like being hit with a baseball bat.  Not certain what had happened, she stopped working and stepped outside to get a breath of fresh air.  She mentioned this overbearing headache to Ken and he suggested she take a moment to get some rest and relax, but the pain would not go away. Jamie didn't think it was too serious and continued to work when Ken suggested she go to get checked. She agreed, but after visiting the hospital Jamie thought she would get better if she went home to rest. That same night the pain wouldn’t go away and Ken could tell she was in agony. At 3:30 Tuesday morning, Ken suggested they get ready so that they could go to the hospital.  After a few tests (CT scans and MRI’s), the doctors discovered Jamie had blood in her brain as a result of an aneurysm. The neurosurgeon suggested she be immediately transported to the Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque.

Jamie and Ken soon learned that this was considered to be an abnormal brain aneurysm (rarely seen in someone Jamie’s age) and the specialist indicated that she could easily have a stroke or worse. During her stay at Presbyterian Hospital, Jamie was constantly monitored, was given a high dosage of pain medication, and had to undergo two angiograms required to take multiple x-rays of the arteries in the brain.  On Wednesday, June 26th, Jamie underwent a second angiogram and was relieved when she received the good news, the artery was no longer bleeding and was healed.  She could go home the following day.

We are extremely fortunate she survived such a Traumatic Brain Injury.  The doctors plan to continue to monitor Jamie due to this being an extremely unique case as well discovering some abnormalities.  Jamie will be returning to the see the neurosurgeon in six weeks to discuss her path forward.  She is currently at home resting, but is required to be out of work for an indeterminate amount of time.

If you can make a donation, it would mean the world to Jamie and her family. Jamie is on the road to recovery and we are thankful for this.  Any donation provided will help lighten the burden of paying for current and future medical bills.  We hope you will find it in the goodness of your heart to help our dear friend, Jamie and her family (Ken, Uriah, Nehemiah) recovery from this. If you are unable to provide financial assistance, prayers are also appreciated.
