That his mother didn't even know that I started this for her. I did it the very next day because I've done it before when James grandma passed away two years ago . All I could think of was being able to get this boy a descent memorial so I just started it at $3000. I had no idea so many would reach out and I surprised her the next day when the goal had been met but people were still wanting to help so I left it open .
Now, I would like to tell you that the money is in the process of being disbursed for the funeral but we're having trouble with this site and getting it processed . The family has had to fight with the funeral home cooridinator and because of such delays it's causing more grief and we can't lay James to rest. I felt like the donators should know what's going on with their money so I'm telling you nothing has been disbursed yet but we're trying . I've transferred everything over to Faye , but this site hasn't made any disbursement . Please pray that this will all be settled soon for James .

I am James Means blood brother , I really appreciate the support from everyone. The help and support is really lifting my mother's spirit and helping her to feel better , which makes a huge impact on the family as well because we need her to he strong for not only us but James as he rests within peace and watches over all of us as we proceed to make the world a better place . Hi everyone, as you see racist/hateful comments on here, please contact Go Fund Me and ask them to remove. They are not monitoring this page but will address racist comments. I contacted them yesterday about a racist comment and they responded and took it down within 3 minutes. This family is grieving. They don't need to see these hateful, racist comments.

Data (facts) negate that as little more than racist myth. These fabricated and deeply triggering / distressing statements are disrespectful of James' grief-stricken family. As soon as I heard about the shooting I was heartbroken. Hearing that he was only 15 crushed me. I'm very sorry for loss of James. I'm local, if the family ever needs anything. I'm here and I'm sure many good hearted strangers feel the same way.

Lord have mercy on us. When I see what is going on in America with racism it grieves my spirit.
I have now read four separate stories about this shooting. I can safely say there are a number of oddities. The first story had Means current picture as opposed to the picture above when he was nine. Pullium did leave the first altercation where he went into the Dollar Store to seek safety; obviously feeling threatened. Pullium then walks on the opposite side of the street to avoid yet another altercation with Means who was sitting with friends on a porch. Means sees Pullum and crosses the street to start yet another altercation. At which point, Pullium is so fearful he shoots him twice. Even blantent racists (Pullium) can find themselves in a self-defense position. What offends me is to see this picture of Means, that was clearly taken six years ago, evoking sympathy for a child, which Means was not.
