Jala's Cervical Cancer Treatment

In 2011, I had cervical cancer. I had surgery at that time to cut the infected part of my cervix out, and thereafter I didn't have any abnormalities for a number of years. This year right after I ran my first marathon I had an abnormal PAP, and after followup testing and further biopsy it was confirmed that the cancer returned.
On July 7th, I had another procedure (ablation) to remove the new abnormalities. My follow-up is scheduled for 4 months from now, as it will take that long to fully heal.
This has been only one of several life challenges I've been juggling in the last 9 months or so; financially, the combination of issues have drained me dry. Divorce; car problems which have led to lots of money being sunk in and ultimately the vehicle still not working and being junked out; problems with my spinal stenosis requiring treatment; and various other middling things such as important household items breaking and needing replacement or repair.
It was the kind members of the Duckfeed podcast network's Slack community who put all of these ongoing dilemmas together and said, "Jala, you can't afford any of this." They have banded together to perform a special Twitch livestream event to help raise funds to alleviate the financial burden. It will be held from my personal Twitch account, jalachan, on July 28, 29 & 30th, which is the weekend after my birthday. The full schedule is viewable here.
I'm doing what I can do: I strung together just enough credit line to fit the bill for the procedure; I've finished up some art commissions during a lull; I set up an Etsy store where people can purchase other artwork I have made which is on hand in my studio. Whatever funding is received will go directly towards my medical bills. The goal cost of this campaign, $2,000, is just the cost of this most recent procedure.
I'll admit that I feel super awkward about typing all this, because there are so many people in need out there in the world. All the same, I am nothing but grateful to my Duckfriends, and to all of you reading this for your well-wishes and kindness. I often say that the greatest impact we have in life is the one we have on other people; I will do my utmost to pay your kindness forward, to keep running for charities, to become a better person each day.
