Jake&Audreys Paradise Fire Recovery

As you may have seen on the news, there are once again devastating fires in Northern California. The town of Paradise (which is anything but now) has been razed to the ground. Unfortunately, our friends and family have lost not only their homes, but everything they own. My sister Audrey didn’t even have a chance to return home to snag any essentials before the roads were closed, and her husband Jake was lucky enough to have  5 minutes to grab the dogs and a few items of clothing before he had to escape the smoke and flames.

We do not yet know of the status of their house… but from the fire maps we’ve seen so far… we don’t have much hope. We know many have donation fatigue, with fires and floods and hurricanes happening more and more frequently, but now more than ever, those we love are in need, and must rebuild from the ground up.

We’re asking that you pitch in what you can, even $5 helps, but more than that, hoping that you can pass this fundraiser along to your circles of family and friends, in hopes that the small efforts of the many are compounded.

We have already sent up some tangibles, spare clothes and shoes and what not.. what will be most important now is helping them fill their coffers to they can get what they need most, when they actually need it. Right now, they’re out of harms way, and have generous friends lending shelter, but they don’t really have any space to store goods… in this case, money, amazon gift cards, gas cards, etc would be most helpful.

Thank you so much for whatever you can spare. This comfort will help Audrey focus on finishing her nursing program and graduating with her RN this December, not having to worry so much about what comes next. It will be a long and difficult recovery, but they both have an amazing support system, and will persevere, with our help.
