Hi Everybody,

Please help save my angel; my mom’s life. She has worked all her life helping others.  Now my mom is fighting to save her own life.

As some of you may know, my mom has undergone multiple surgeries, chemotherapy and numerous indignities trying to overcome Stage IV Ovarian Cancer for the past 3 years.

My mom is a strong, talented, deeply loving soul. Her light and positive energy are inexhaustible. Her strength and determination are inspirational. Her joyful nature and faith in the ultimate goodness of life in the midst of her suffering, are remarkable.

She is immeasurably loved and admired by many and right now she is in the midst of her third battle with cancer and she needs our help to pay for treatments and therapies that are critical to her recovery.

In the past my mom had dedicated her life to helping others.  Her professional endeavors sought to help people attain better opportunities through her staffing skills and in midst of the 2008 recession, she worked hard to bring Renewable Energy training to Arizona to help construction professionals re-align skill sets to support themselves and their families during those hard-economic times.

She has since donated all her Solar curriculum and equipment to a high school who will be teaching Solar installation to the students who have an interest in pursuing this technology.

My mom currently lives with me in Houston, TX.  We relocated here so that I could attend the Houston Ballet Academy.  I am 17 years old.

She is my emotional core; I can’t lose her to this disease.  My mom's light is not ready to be dimmed in this world.  Her friends need her, her family need her, her community needs her … I need her.

It is very difficult for my mom to ask for help. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover any of the costs of the alternative treatments she needs to survive, not to mention the fact that her ability to work has been drastically reduced. She has not been able to work at all this year.

Because conventional treatment is no longer effective, she has to seek treatment through Clinical Trials, Stem Cell Transplants and Alternative therapies to save her life.  These are all out-of-pocket costs.

We are seeking to raise $50,000. These funds will enable my mom to see the specialists she needs and receive potent and costly treatments such as Immunotherapy, Vaccines, Stem Cell treatment and Bone Marrow transplants which have shown great promise in treating recurring Ovarian Cancer.

The good news is that the cancer has not spread into any of her major organs and there are many treatment options still available to her, however she needs financial help to pay for them.

With what I have been told, we are confident that we are on our way to a cure for her disease with these new treatments that have shown outstanding results for recurring Ovarian cancer.

Could you please donate something so that my mom might have a fighting chance against this disease?
For us, time is of the essence.

Any amount is generous and kind! Any amount you can give will empower her. Whatever you can spare will help her continue her treatments and enable her to see specialists to assess the next steps she needs to take. This is key.

Please help my mom get well.

Please make a contribution in any amount you can afford toward the care she urgently needs.

Your contribution, however small, will uplift and empower her toward strength and health. We will be forever grateful as all who love her.

You're helping save her life!

"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." - Aesop.

Be an angel.  Thank you.

We thank you for your kindness and wish you the very best of life.

We will update you on my mom's progress as time goes by.

With Gratitude,
and all who love my mom, Donna Bentivegno

Hi Everyone!
Hope you are all doing well.
I wanted to give you an update since it's been so long since my last post and so much has happened.
As you know, my mom was working with MD Anderson's Clinical Trial Department and had been for three to four months but they pulled her from the program when new legions were found throughout her abdomenal area and her liver.
She had been experiencing pain in her abdomen that began to be more frequent and extreme to the point of vomiting and getting to the hospital for pain meds and IV fluids. Her stays lasted from 4-6 days at a time and she fasted for most of it.
She was admitted nearly weekly throughout September and October and she lost 40 pounds.
The oncologist recommended she start traditional chemotherapy as soon as possible in the hopes that it would work as it had in the past.
We were lucky, it did.
You see, the cancer began to grow around her colon and froze it, so that nothing could pass. They call this an obstruction of the bowels.
After her very first chemo treatment, her stomach pain gradually subsided and after further testing, had proved to be working. After her third treatment, the oncologist put her a daily oral chemo treatment that seems to be effective as well.
Her blood test showed her CA 125 went from over 8,000 to 23 (under 35 is considered normal).
We just learnd this news on Tuesday and we are so relieved and grateful.
This has been challenging year for us as I'm sure you all have experienced as well. May we all be blessed in all times.
I wanted to post a new photo but there's something wrong with my phone connection and my laptop so I'll have to get back to you for that.
But for the time being we are in Houston but we don't know where we will be in the coming year.
I'll keep you posted.
The good news is Mom is 60 on Sunday, March 24th, glad she here to celebrate.
We are so grateful for your support and well wishes and are truly appreciative of everyone that has been following us.
Thank you again and hope all is well with each one of you and your family and friends.
We send you our prayers and blessings always.
Much love,

Hi Everybody,

Here's an update on my mom's health.

My mom recently went to meet with an Ocologist at MD Anderson and had an abdominal scan done with a blood test that measures the cancer markers.
Her blood test result was 614 (35 is normal).
Just to give you an idea - her CA 125 market was at 12 after the last chemo treatment in February 2017.

So the cancer is slowly growing back.

In addition, the scan showed some masses in her perinial area and they have grown slightly since her abdominal scan last November.

MD Anderson discussed a Clinical Trial for her that would include a new drug called APR 246 but it would be accompanied by two chemotherapy drugs.

Right now, she is not too keen on chemotherapy but she has not ruled it out.

She is exploring some Immunotherapy Clinical Trials in NYC at Sloan Kettering but as of yet, we don't have any definitive news on that.

In addition, she is trying to see if she can get some financial help from a charitable organization for treatment at the CMN Yuma hospital and she has been considering treatment through a Tibetan Doctor who has suggested an aggressive protocol.

We are so grateful for each one of you ... for being there for us and being a blessing in our lives.

We are sending you each our love and gratitude and we hope you and your loved ones are doing well.

We will stay in touch as we progress in this journey.

Hi Everyone,
I wanted to let you know that my mom went to MD Anderson, a cancer research hospital here in Houston, TX yesterday. Testing is being done this week and we will know more in the coming weeks as to where she is exactly. We know the disease is back but do not know the rate it is growing or how far it has grown presently.
MD Anderson has a clinical trial that they are researching for my mom to see if she could be elgible for it.
Again, many thanks for all your support and we send you all our warmest gratitude.
Much love,
