Jack Mcintosh Medical Expenses

About two weeks ago, Jack Mcintosh (TAMU Professional MBA Class of 2017) came down with what was believed to be the standard flu. Apparently his condition worsened drastically and turned to a very serious pneumonia. Last Tuesday he began vomiting large amounts of blood and went into the ICU. He's been told that he had several different types of infections and his body “just isn't catching up”.
Monday (4/22) Jack had surgery to insert tubes into his lungs to help drain the fluid. As of this morning (4/24) he remains in the ICU. He could be in the hospital for an extended period.
Jack would never ask for help and so far his wife Stefanie only has one request. She asked if I would reach out to his friends and have them send notes of encouragement (see below for the hospital address).
Jack is a U.S. Navy Veteran, so Stefanie is checking to see if there is some sort of healthcare benefit he can get even though he is not current enrolled in the VA health plan. Regardless, they will need help with medical expenses in the future as they aren’t presently covered.
Ways to help:
1.) Contributions towards their medical expenses.
2.) Notes of encouragement for Jack
3.) Any insight or assistance with the process of an ex-veteran getting benefits retroactively.
4.) He’ll be looking for a new job once he gets back on his feet so if you know of anything that might be a good fit please reach out. He’s got a ton of experience in logistics and has more recently been working as a loan officer and finance director.
