My name is Madison Jones and I am a Charleston native. It's been decided, & I am heading to Texas Sunday evening.
After talking with authorities, I have been advised to wait until rainfall stops because after rescues are made, the recovery process will need many able hands.
They need people to help restore and clean up.
I will be driving to Lake Charles Sunday evening and meeting up with the Cajun Navy at that point. Then heading to Houston, or as close as we can get. By then, the flooding will hopefully have decreased so that we may get in to start cleaning up and recovering. I can't sit here & be well while others have lost EVERYTHING they own, & even possibly lost loved ones.
I need all of the help I can get. I hate reaching out, especially on social media, but I believe I have been called to help. Any type of donations will help & is greatly appreciated. Whether it is dry food, cases of water, or monetary donations, it will all be helpful. I will use money for gas to get there, food to feed folks that do not have access to food, to help fill up extra gas cans for rescue boats in need, and for whatever you may like to specifically contribute! Just message or text me. I am currently trying to raise enough money to rent a Penske truck. Anything helps!
