On March 14th, Marci gave birth to a beautiful little boy Kyler, via c-section. Just two weeks after Kyler’s birth, Kyler’s older sister Natalie, not yet two, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and immediately sent to the nearest children’s hospital about 90 miles away, to start treatment.
As you can imagine, this has come as a complete shock to the entire family. The timing couldn’t be worse. Marci was still recovering from a c-section and complications during and after the birth of her baby.
Baby Kyler is 2 months old, is nursing, and is now separated from his mother for long periods of time, while Natalie receives treatments far away from home.
Marci’s husband Matt and eldest son Chase are doing the best they can, but this is a lot for the family to deal with!
The gas expense alone; driving back and forth from the children’s hospital every week for Natalie’s lymphoblastic leukemia treatment for six months, is a huge burden, not to mention the wear and tear on the car. This is when she's not in the hospital for long extended periods of time due to infections, fevers and more.
Food will be provided for Natalie at the hospital but will still be an expense for Marci and Matt while there. Let’s not even get into the medical bills that will add up.
And then there’s child care for Chase and Kyler. The more money that can be raised the more chances Marci and baby Kyler have of being together during this crucial time. Money will provide a cushion for the family so that Matt can take time off from work and the married couple can tackle this together as a team.
The financial burden that comes with a situation like this is unfathomable. Add in a new baby and a recovering mother… It’s insane! We would like to relieve as much stress and financial strain as possible. Our goal is to raise $10,000 for the family.
