Donate to KIPP San Diego

KIPP San Diego is a non-profit organization which oversees KIPP Adelante Preparatory Academy (a middle school) and KIPP Through College (a support program that works with kids and their families beginning in fifth grade through college graduation).  The school is currently located downtown San Diego.  

KIPP Adelante has been educating 5-8 grade students from Logan Heights and Southeast San Diego since 2003.  Our KIPPsters are hard-working, enthusiastic, resilient and focused; they are also mostly low-income, learners of English, new Americans and performing far below grade level when they arrive at our door.  

We are obsessed with the idea that KIPP San Diego will be a proof-point that schools with high concentrations of kids from underserved communities are actually buildings filled with innovative, creative, engaged, passionate and valuable contributors to our community, uniquely positioned to address some of the ongoing challenges that plague our cities.

Through longer school days and an extended school year with extraordinarily dedicated and passionate teachers, our students improve and succeed. 92% of them go on to graduate high school four years after they leave us.  Close to 70% of those, with the support of our KIPP Through College team go on to enroll in college, and with our team's support and guidance we are making sure that they persist once they get there.  
We are singularly focused on raising that number.   

KIPP San Diego is part of a nationwide network of schools with the same mission.  Over the next few years, we'll be expanding from this one school site that serves 5-8 graders to an elementary school (K-4) and ultimately a high school (9-12).  

All donated funds will be appropriated to a variety of fundraising efforts. Every dollar counts!  Some examples include:

-Career Summits, College Application Workshops and College Transition Program

Technology
-Purchase of laptops, iPads, chromebooks
-Digital video cameras
-Hire an Educational Technology Specialist to support teachers in integrating technology into everyday learning

-Maker space materials and tools
-Professional Development for Teachers
-School planting project

Enrichment
-Scholarships for students to attend after school activities 
-Enrichment activities
