Ivon's Heart

As many of you know, in January of this year our son Ivon was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect called a VSD. A ventricular Septal Defect is a hole in the lower chamber of the heart. His condition requires his to be on several diuretics to keep fluid from building on his lungs, he has bi-weekly doctors appointments and feeding/weight gain issues due to his body over-circulating. He is unable to be in day care because any illness could be extremely dangerous for him with his condition.
For the last 5 months we've been playing a game of wait and see. It is now apparent that open heart surgery is the best option for him. We are hopeful that once surgery and recovery is complete I can return to work. The last few months have been tough. We pay over $1500 a month to keep health insurance so Ivon can see his cardiologist. We pay over $200 a month in prescriptions and co-pays. We've exhausted our savings account and any available funds to get through this time. The money we are trying to raise is to pay for just our insurance premium for the next two months. Anything over that amount that we raise would go to prescriptions, co-pays and expenses of our upcoming hospital stay when he has open heart surgery. If you can't help monetarily, we'd love pre-made food and supplies when we are in the hospital. We don't have an exact surgery date yet, but it will be within the next 3 weeks.
