Hello Friends and Family,
On July 13th my sister, Brooke, had an emergency C-section due to placenta previa and delivered Isaac Edward at 32 weeks, 8 weeks earlier than he should have been. He was born in Springfield, IL about 40 mins from their hometown and admitted to the NICU there. Isaac was on a CPAP for breathing, oxygen, and a feeding tube. It has now been a week since Isaac was born and he has had his CPAP removed and is now breathing without additional oxygen. He developed NEC, which is an infection in his intestines and bowel. The doctors treated this with antibiotics and no food for 7 days. He was able to recover from that and is now working to hard to get his weight up and eat as much as possible. On 8/7 the doctors found a heart murmur and are currently testing to determine a course of action.
Isaac is a blessing to Brooke and Kyle and they are so overjoyed with their new parenthood. The medical costs, however, and gas to drive back and forth to the hospital will be overwhelming for this new family. I would like to ask that if you can donate anything towards making this long road ahead a little easier for them, it would be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to donate, prayers and good vibes are just as important!
Kyle and Brooke are so thankful for the many friends and family who have reached out to support them through this joyous, yet difficult time. The outpouring of love and encouragement has been overwhelmingly touching and instrumental in aiding Brooke, Kyle, and Isaac's battle to get as healthy as possible!
