Ironman for Child Protection

I want to use my new journey to bring your attention to a great organisation and their amazing work. ECPAT, a small yet worldwide established NGO with their mission to eliminate sexual exploitation of children. They are a 102 member organisation distributed in 93 countries.

I want to tell people about the great work of ECPAT Germany, about the complexity of child protection especially in regards to tourism and volunteering.  Therefore, I want to fundraise money for ECPAT, the organisation that has been a pioneer in this topic. ECPAT's work has really moved things towards the right direction in terms of child protection in particular in the tourism industry. 

Since Hamburg, my hometown, is hosting the Ironman again in 2018, I decided to sign up and let my endless hours of training result in something more than just me achieving one of my biggest dreams.

Triathlon- swim- bike - run. 

Having been a fencer my entire life, I never thought that I would ever be able to compete in a triathlon. In May 2016, I competed in my first race and was able to win my age group. Since then, nothing has been able to stop me. 


The Ironman consists of 3.8 km swim (2.4 miles) followed by 180 km bike (112 miles) and 42.2 km run (26.2 miles). 

Follow my new journey of training for my first Ironman and help me in making a meaningful impact. Spread the word about the importance of the Rights of Children, the complexity of volunteering with children and donate money for the outstanding work that ECPAT Germany is doing to move together into the right direction!
