Running MDS to help Guatemalan kids

Team IronGuate (Gabriel Biguria, Fausto Chicas, Rodolfo Castillo, Juan Francisco Abril) campaign is about raising awareness and funds for a great cause, the Extraordinary Guatemalans Organization, helping at-risk youth in Guatemala, through our journey to complete the 2016 Marathon Des Sables, considered one of the toughest races in the planet!
We are looking to raise US $5,000+ (or about $4 for each km, each of us will endure), to support the kids future through this great organization!
In exchange for your valuable support for these wonderful kids, we will commit to completing a 150 mile (240km), 7 day foot race, carrrying all of our food and kit, through the non-forgiving Sahara Desert, in April of 2016. Marathon Des Sables
Extraordinary Guatemalans (Guatemaltecos Extraordinarios) is a non-profit organization, founded by our extraordinary friend Juan Carlos Molina David, providing hope and opportunities for at-risk youth and their families, living in extreme conditions in Guatemala City. Many of these youth with great potential, are seen as a challenged cause and neglected by our society, due to their limited options for development and involuntary/forced involvement in gangs, drugs, etc.
To be able to change a kids life, they get to know fully and deeply each of their young members along with their families, thereby developing and implementing a customized healing and improvement Plan. The association was formed in 2011 and based on its merits, has received funding twice from USAID.
The incredible stories about change, positive impact and future hope from these kids thanks to Juan Carlos and his organization, is why we want to leverage our Marathon Des Sables journey to promote this wonderful cause!
We hope that we can count with your support and together make a lasting difference for these great Guatemalan's, who all they need is genuine support and love, from caring people like you!
