Iris Coyne Woolsey Fire Relief Fund

As many of you already know, my mom's house unfortunately burned down in the Woolsey Fire this past Friday.  Learning that we lost our home was tremendously devastating to say the least.  My mom, Iris, worked very hard to purchase our home while raising me as a single parent.  The house was our family's past, present, and future.  We love our community and feel fortunate to be able to call Seminole Springs our home.

My mom invests a large amount of her time taking care of her multiple elderly neighbors.  She has a huge heart and a special spirit.  It's not easy and I'm in awe of her ability to be so caring and selfless.  Some of those people also lost their homes, and even though she is currently processing her own loss, she is taking the time to visit them in the shelters to ensure they are being properly taken care of.

My Mom used to work at Monte Nido...an eating disorder recovery center.  Below is a letter I received yesterday from one of her past patients....

"Ryan,
I was a resident at Monte Nido where your mom worked.  She spent her career fighting insurance companies to advocate for girls and women battling eating disorders.  Many of these women including myself would have died had it not been for your mom.  She is my angel.  She relentlessly fought for me and I will be forever grateful.  If you could let the world know how many lives she saved and touched.  Now it's time to pay it forward to your mom."

The loss of so many homes in our community has been heart-wrenching and has taken a toll on everyone involved.  During the evacuation, my mom was alone and was only able to take the bare necessities and a few family heirlooms.  We know many people in our loving community have also suffered greatly.  Anything you can do to help alleviate some stress would mean the world to my family and I.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and share her story!
