We are raising money to cover rehearsal and performance pay for our wonderful 10 women cast for the project INVISIBLE:
Time Track Productions presents “Invisible”, an evening length movement/theater/media work that explores the narratives and perspectives of women navigating the aging process. The work integrates a performing company of 10 women ages 25-76, luminary performers from our community. “Invisible” will premiere as part of the The Southern Theater's winter events, February 15th-17th 2018.
We almost had the necessary funds to complete our project: we were Knight Arts Challenge finalists but were not choosen to recieve final funding.
With your help we can support our large cast toward successful performances at the Southern Theater this February! Time Track is committed to compensating performers. All donations over $50 will be entered into a drawing for 2 free tickets to the show! We are very grateful for your support.
More about the work:The focus of this work is to shed light upon the ‘cloak of invisibility’ that is a women’s constant companion as she ages. We are not seen, not acknowledged, simply because of our age. At a time when most women experience increased wisdom, clarity and mental acuity, subtle condemnation and cultural stereotypes relentlessly expound glorious youth, particularly as it denotes a women’s value as a sexual being. Dance, fashion, and media worlds are guilty of promoting these images. Through this work we seek to create an alternate narrative, more substantive and imaginative than what is currently in the mainstream.
Paula Mann is one of a handful of Minneapolis choreographers of her generation committed to creating origional work. INVISIBLE is her 54 th work since her first show at the Merce Cunningham Studio in 1980.
