Hello!
I’m starting a fundraiser to help me with the costs of getting top surgery.
Back in December, I was on track to raise funds myself, but I suddenly had to escape a domestic violence situation. I poured all my funds into the moving and deposit cost, and although I’m in a safe situation now, my housing costs twice what it used to (and over ¾ of my income!). The timeline till surgery went from 11 months to… 11.25 years. Yikes! :D
But, my body isn’t able to wait that long. I’m getting increasing chest pain and breathing issues from wearing a binder 12 hours daily for the last 5 years, and my posture and overall health have really taken a hit.
I had a campaign on YouCaring, and thanks to the help of many good friends was able to raise about $700. I’ve added in to that about $300 of my own, so I’m about $5750 away from my $6750 goal.
If you can help at all, it’s much appreciated—thank you so much! Any money beyond the goal will be used to help with travel costs; the surgeon I’m going to is in Texas. If by any chance there’s more money than I can use, I will donate it to another trans person’s top surgery fund!
