Rebuilding Black Wall Street

Melanated Connections Inc.

Vision: We strive to equip the Melanoid Community with a national network of sustainable programs, resources and businesses that ensure a firm foundation for future progress and development.

Our Inspiration: Prior to the race riot of 1921, Tulsa Oklahoma contained the most affluent Black community in America. This community consisted of 21 churches, 21 restaurants, 30 grocery stores, 2 movies theaters, a hospital, bank, post office, libraries, schools, law offices, privately owned airplanes and a bus system!

The Plan: To buy business plazas (also referred to as a strip mall) that will house Black Owned Businesses that network and support each other and the surrounding communities. Each plaza will also contain a MC Community Center. The center will provide programs, resources and assistance to the community in an effort to increase education, wealth, ownership and opportunities! We are starting in Atlanta and will grow nationally!

Businesses we are planning: We want every business our community needs to help us with this project. We cannot put every business in every plaza but we can build an incredible network!  Businesses will be held to certain standards as we are setting the bar for excellence and dispelling all the stereotypes of Black Owned Businesses.

Services we are planning: We plan on providing the majority of the services our community needs and the ones that require a different expertise will be serviced by other organizations in network with us. Here are a few:
*Job Fairs/placement
*Workshops
   -Resumes
   -Computer Skills
   -Job Search
*Financial Literacy
*Tutoring
*High school to college transitioning
*Intern/externships with connecting businesses
  and more
*and we plan on providing childcare during the time you are receiving those services!

How: If we can reach 100,000 people and they submit a donation of $10 or more we can reach our goal in no time. Or maybe 50,000 people who donate $20 or more. The moral of the story is that we have to come together and put our money where our complaints are.

Why: The dollar only circulates in the Black Community for 6 hours opposed to the 20 days in Jewish Communities or the 1 month it stays in Asian communities. There is always a discussion about us spending money with everyone else except those that look like us. Melanated Connections sincerely believes that we can accomplish this together. Some ask the question why bother since “the Black Community cannot come together”. MC refuses to believe that this is the case! We have done it before and we can do it again! We have the numbers to make this happen! NOW IS THE TIME TO TAKE ACTION!

What is in it for you:
Short term: Each donation of $10 or more comes with a Certificate of Appreciation; showing family, friends and loved ones your commitment to changing lives for the better, your commitment to our economic growth and most importantly your contribution to the impact we will make on this nation’s history.
Long term: A thriving network within the Black Community that will help us accomplish our mission. Maybe you will receive services, maybe your child or grandchild. Maybe you have one of the businesses that will be placed in the plaza.

We're talking about everlasting greatness!
