My name is Rainee Coakley and I am a junior at Wayne School of Engineering in Goldsboro NC. I have been dancing under the instruction of Artistic Dance Academy for 12 years and want to bring my passion for dance to Carver Heights Elementary. I will be teaching a girl’s dance class once a week to 16 students who have not been introduced to dance nor could afford dance lessons. Carver Heights is a low socioeconomic school and it is my desire to bring ballet and other forms of dance to their attention. There are many links between dance and classroom success and I hope to do all I can to facilitate a love for the art of dance.
The money I raise will go toward ballet attire (shoes ($10.56), tights ($6.99), leotards $11.50), materials such as dance barre bars ($4.48 ea) and mirrors $5.00 ea), along with  inexpensive costumes for PTA productions (such as $2.00 tutus that can be worn over their already purchased leotards). If I happen to raise more money than my goal, I plan to use it to carry the dancers to a local dance production.
I will be starting my lessons on Oct. 5th but the attire and materials will be needed before Sept. 22nd.
I appreciate any help in funding I can get because it is my goal to have this opportunity given to the students at NO COST to them personally.  Thank you for considering this a worthwhile project and making a donation.

Hello! Once again I'd like to thank everyone for supporting the Carver Heights dancers! The girls have performed 4 times now and are getting ready for three more performances! We couldn't have done it without all your support. They are shining bright!
As you can imagine, once given the opportunity to take formal lessons, several of the young ladies have shown great talent! We'd like to help them continue their instruction in dance by giving away scholarships to take classes at Artistic Dance Academy in the fall. If you'd like to help, please donate! And SHARE so that we can spread the love even further!

Thank you SO much to everyone who has made a donation to this project! I have had such great support and appreciate the "likes" and "shares" also!

I had initially put Sept. 23rd as the deadline of when I needed to reach my goal by, but I can extend that time so feel free to keep spreading the word and/or donating!

To update everyone, I introduced myself and performed for all the 3rd grade girls at Carver Heights and had a very positive response! The girls have been chosen and they are very excited to get started!

I am setting up the room to teach the lessons, I'm getting ready to order the apparel, and am prepping for my lessons.

Once again, thank you to all who have donated. I am able to do this because of your support!
