International Advocacy Trip/Japan

To my friends and strangers that have followed (or are new to it) my journey of aging out of foster care to becoming an advocate for those still in the system. I have an opportunity to advocate internationally by collaborating with another countries child welfare system.

I was selected to advocate for child welfare as an American representative in Japan by an organization called international Foster care alliance. This is the opportunity of a lifetime and close to my heart so I couldn't turn it down. Due to the length of the trip my job will not keep me because it is busy season in the service industry on the Oregon coast. I am worried I will lose my housing and stability by chasing after what's close to my heart.

My hope with this fundraiser is to keep my stability and my apartment as I chase my dreams and look for another job. 

I want to change the world and I can with your help! I will post updates as I learn more and while on the ground speaking at events in Japan. Their child welfare system is in desperate need of reform just like America's is. My goal is to make sure countries aren't failing the children that are in their care.
