Exciting News!! After several years of planning by Dr. Christine Bowen and our Founding Board of Directors, Tim Harris and Carolina Cartier, we have successfully started a Non-Profit Holistic Health Center in Bothell, WA.
Inside Health Institute
Mission - To make Inside Health Institute the destination for financially feasible prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic illness.
What are we trying to do? Create a new model for comprehensive, quality care for chronic health conditions that includes educating patients on diet and lifestyle change, self advocacy, and complementary therapies. These excellent services will be available to all patients, regardless of income or insurance coverage. Our fee schedule will allow for adjustments based on income and family size so those who can afford to pay the full fee will do so, and those who need assistance with the cost of treatment will be eligible for up to 100% reduced cost services.
We will begin by launching our Digestive Health Program and will launch future programs as funds allow. Our long term goals are: provide holistic care; become a clinical training center; and perform research.
Exciting Opening Donation! Upon receipt of our 501c3 approval, we will be shipped a QuinTron breath testing machine, which is used to test for an underdiagnosed digestive condition known as SIBO (Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth). It is estimated that between 6 to 15% of healthy, asymptomatic people have SIBO, while up to 80% of people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) have SIBO. This test is in high demand and the donation of this valuable equipment will allow for better access to testing for SIBO; and, a portion of the fee for every test will go toward charity care at Inside Health Institute. Just by getting testing done, patients can help other patients to also have access to care!!
Why do we need a crowd sourced fundraising campaign? To be ready to open for business, we need to raise 3 months minimum of operation expenses ($25,000) and $5,000 for the charity care program. Operation expenses include: hiring two part time staff (one for operations and administration and the other for support with our lab and breath testing), getting phone and fax lines installed, marketing (website, business cards, prescription pads), and rental space.
Is my donation eligible for tax deduction? Yes! We filed our 501c3 paperwork with the IRS on March 1st, and are awaiting approval. Donations made during pending status are eligible for tax deduction. Written acknowledgment of your donation will be sent to you from Inside Health Institute. See IRS Publications 4220 and 1771.

We are gearing up to start patient care on Thursdays and Fridays at our Bothell location and are preparing to receive our SIBO test equipment in the next couple of months as well.
We still need to ask for funds to be donated so that our patients will have charitable funds available to receive the care and services they need.
We also would like to take our health education classes around our area to local schools, community centers and colleges and putting together programs like this will require money! Please consider becoming a first time donor or if you are already a donor, might you be able to re-pledge to allow us to have a buffer to help us get started?
