Infinity Equine Therapy Rebuild

Donation protected
My name is Anthony Malizia I am a Boy Scout in Troop 97.   Last summer I went on a  BSA high adventure trip to Philmont in New Mexico where I hiked over 80 miles.  While I was there I heard of a trek I could do next time on a horse.  I immediately went to ask Silver Rock Farms in Pearl River if I could volunteer to gain horse experience.  I never would have imagined how life changing this would be.

I started volunteering there in August 2016.  I volunteer there 5 days a week; I have been trained to help with the therapeutic riding program Infinity Equine Therapy (IET).  During my time there I have learned how to take care of the horses and assist in training both the rider and the horse.   I also learned that I attended a program there through SEPTA when I was 5 years old at Evans Park Elementary School! It has become a second home for myself and so many others.

As I began looking towards doing my Eagle Project, I immediately looked at Infinity Equine Therapy, a 501C3 non-profit; this unique equine program is run at Silver Rock Farms.  The program is committed to providing persons with special needs the benefits of equine-assisted recreation and activities.  Benefiting from IET's programs are persons with :  Down Syndrome, Autistic spectrum disorders, physical impairments, ADD/ADHD/ Prader-Willi, learning disabilities, Fragile X Syndrome, Tourettes Syndrome, visual impairments, Cerebral Palsy and hearing impairments to name a few.  All lessons are carefully tailored to meet the individual's ability.

My project will include revamping the existing refuse ramp by providing new shingles and treads for traction.  The platform the ramp leads to will be completely replaced!   We will also be replacing 3 barn doors as well as all locking hardware.   We will be building a new feeding trough for one of the horses, as well as removing rocks from the paddocks.

This is a lot to accomplish but we are going to get it done-but, we need your help!  Any donation you can give towards my project will help me make these necessary improvements.  Infinity Equine Therapy will be receiving any donations left at the end.  After speaking to them - they have a wish list of things they would love to get.  One of the items on  their wish list for the therapeutic program is the hopes to eventually be able to purchase a pony cart for their miniature ponies.  The cart would be used for able and wheelchair bound persons to experience the benefits of the motion and emotion of the horse without being on top of the horse.  It is my hope that I will be able to present them with a check to make this wish list a reality.

Thank you for your support!
