Humanitarian Engineering Indonesia

Donation protected
It has been said that the single most meaningful way to spend your money is on experiences, not things.

Experiences are the essence of life.

This campaign funds the cost of my trip to Papua, Indonesia to work with local engineers and fellow students to bring technology to where it's needed most. You will be funding lives; you will fund not only my own experience, but experiences in the many lives this project will impact. Our team of four engineering students will be partnering with Advancing Engineering Consultants through a SPU missions program called "SPRINT" (SPU Reachout International).

Upon our arrival in Indonesia, we will spend three days in Jakarta where we will receive Indonesian language training. Afterwards, we will fly with MAF from Jakarta to rural Papua, where we will begin our work with Indonesian engineers. Through our work we are seeking not only to bring energy solutions to needful communities, but also to bring with us the love, peace and good news of Christ. The trip will last a total ofsix weeks, from June 22 - August 1.

I have been fundraising and working on the side to help pay for the trip, but the cost is more than I can afford by myself. The overall cost for me to go on this trip is $4500, however I am only looking to raise the portion of funds I ABSOLUTELY need. The rest I hope to pay for on my own. These funds will pay for:

- Round-trip airfare (~$2,400)
- Host family reimbursement (food, transportation, lodging, etc.)
- Pre-trip costs (training, visas, health insurance, supplies, etc.)

Any support whatsoever that you can  provide means the world to me. Thank you.

Our team consists of four SPU engineering students:
(Left to Right)
Myself (Benjamin Stout) - Computer Engineering
Andrew Erne - Electrical Engineering
Michaela Fraser - Electrical Engineering
Jordan Banks - Electrical Engineering

To get an idea of the environment we will be working in, please take a moment to check out this video from one of the organizations we will be partnering with (MAF):
Thank You for all of your support. Words cannot sufficiently express my gratitude.
