Update from the family:

One thing my mom taught me was, if you need help-there’s no shame is asking for it. I’m in need of help.

I will be moving from DeKalb to Algonquin by the end of June to move in with my dad and help care for him. I recently had to say goodbye to my car and now am driving my dad’s Chevy Tahoe, which takes a LOT of gas; and I will be making quite a few trips to and from.

For the move I will also need to rent a UHaul and a storage unit as much of my apartment will not fit into my Dads house. Unfortunately when my mom passed I had to have 2 weeks of unpaid time off work. Finances are very tight right now as I struggle to even pay my usual bills, let alone moving expenses.

My family and I greatly appreciate all the help we’ve been given so far. Most of what has been collected has been kept the medical bills at bay, although we’re still waiting for the week long hospital bill to come in. My father will also be going in for a CT scan to address his kidney stones and will potentially go in for another surgery this summer.

My dad is often hesitant to ask for help, so I’m asking for him. Our home is in desperate need of many repairs. Most significantly, many of the ceramic tiles in our home are cracked and coming up. The sharp edges and missing pieces make it difficult for my dad to navigate the house in his wheel chair. We are trying to find solutions but will need help.

Along with supporting the fundraiser and sharing our story, if anyone is able to donate their time please contact us. We could use assistance in house hold repairs like dry wall patching and painting, plumbing, and tree branch removal.

Thank you

For 60 years the world was a little brighter because Teresa Valerie DiLenge was in it. She was a woman of strong faith, believing that Earth is just a temporary home before returning to the kingdom of heaven. But while here on Earth, she wrote stories for her daughters as they grew and her sketchbook became the source of many masterpieces--her creativity knew no bounds. She wasn’t afraid to see the world in a different way.

Teresa remained connected to her family; fostering a deeper relationship with her nieces and nephews, quickly sharing a post on FaceBook or a call to action around a just cause. Mama Tess--as she was referred to by her children's friends--provided as much support as she did for her own, caring for their well-being and cheerleading their achievements.

She spent her last day with us on April 12th, 2019, and will be missed fiercely and deeply.

Teresa was a loving mother of her two daughters Mary T. DiLenge and Diana M. DiLenge, and a loving wife to her husband of 38 years, Robert J. DiLenge. Please share your memories and stories, while praying for Robert's speedy recovery.

All funds raised will go towards readjusting with the sudden loss of Teresa, including any medical bills for Robert DiLenge--whom is currently hospitalized; aid in the moving of Mary DiLenge back to her home to help care for her father; and time taken off of work.
