My name is Kim and I am the sister in law of Michele Guzman.
My brother in law Sammy Guzman: A husband, father, brother, son, and friend was struck by a drunk driver and killed early this morning off President George Bush Turnpike in Garland while trying to put fuel in his vehicle. While many of us celebrated time with our families today on thanksgiving, our family mourned the loss of a loved one.
Sammy is one of the most loving person I know. He worked so hard for his family and did everything he could to make sure that they were taken care of. His presence brought light into any room he entered, and his humor was hard to forget!
The main reason why I am starting this fund is for my sister Michele and her 3 children. Sammy was the primary provider for their family and with his sudden loss, I do not want Michele or her kids to have to worry about the little financial burdens. I want to allow them the time to mourn their loss without any other worries....
Just an update for everyone, but I am asking for additional support financially now from the original goal because we have found out that the family is going to be also 100% responsible for paying for the cost of funeral arrangements.
I am asking us all come together to support them in this time. 100% of the funds raised will be for the Guzman family. Any bit you can help with will help and will be much appreciated.
