In Memory of Jeffrey Dorworth

Jeffrey began to not feel well in the summer of 2017 and subsequently saw a doctor.  When a highly aggressive tumor was found growing on his kidney, an operation was completed to remove the kidney.  One month later, doctors discovered it had rapidly spread to other organs — stage 4 metastasis.  The Dorworth Family, living in Fair Haven, NJ then poured countless resources into Jeffrey’s fight against this devastating disease.  Things took a turn for the worse just this past October when he lost use of his legs, as tumors further spread and grew on his spine.  After another surgery, an infection developed and on November 13th, 2018, our friend, brother, and son passed away following a courageous yet all-too-quick battle.

The loss of such an extraordinary person: husband, father, brother, son, friend, teammate and coach so early in life is an unimaginable tragedy.  Jeffrey’s kindness, devotion and leadership are traits that we should all strive to emulate and remember.  In a time when words fall short, we can honor and extend his legacy by saying “thank you” to Jeffrey through the financial support of his family.  All funds will go directly to Jeffrey's family: his wife, Carolyn, sons, Chase and Cole, and daughter, Ava, to aid in living and educational costs.

Jeffrey T. Dorworth

Born in Baltimore, Maryland to his mother, Virginia, and father, Thomas, Jeffrey found his home early on in athletics.  He excelled in varsity ice hockey and football, graduating from Gunnery Prep School in Washington, Connecticut, and maintained his passion for ice hockey for years to come.  Jeffrey graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and went on to earn his CPA, setting the stage for a successful executive career.  He continued to compete on the ice in men’s leagues, and as an avid Washington Capitals fan was elated to witness them hoist their first ever Stanley Cup just months ago.  Although his athletic and academic accomplishments were plentiful, his most beloved role was serving as the quintessential husband to his wife, Carolyn, and father to their three beautiful children, Chase, Cole and Ava.  Jeffrey adored his family and was beyond proud to coach his sons on the ice, and cheer his daughter on as she danced across floors and stages.
