In Memory of Javonte M. Robinson

Donation protected

Please help us support this wonderful family through this tragedy. There are many expenses associated with bereavement and this is one way we can all do something to help.  The funds will go to Javonte's adoptive mother, Gwendolyn "MeMe" Dillard, to help cover the costs of the funeral and alleviate some of the expenses while she takes time to heal.
In addition, a scholarship  fund in honor of Javonte has been established and will be rewarded to a graduate that encompasses the joyful spirit, tenacious attitude, and compassionate heart of Javonte. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you send donations to the Javonte Robinson Memorial Scholarship – http://bit.ly/2jw9rKk .

Thank you and please keep the family in your prayers.

Javonte Robinson Obituary

On Saturday, January 28, Javonte Malick Robinson was called Home to be with the Lord. Javonte was a native of Nashville, proud alumnus of Pearl-Cohn Entertainment Magnet High School and student at Western Kentucky University.
Javonte Robinson was remarkable in every sense of the word. He was a hardworking student, gifted athlete and football fanatic. Javonte played football and soccer and wrestled for Pearl-Cohn, but most remarkable was his character.
The first thing one would notice about Javonte was the authenticity of his smile – often in the form of a big silly grin. Warm and welcoming, the way he greeted the world was as rare as it was refreshing. His smile was a window into the soul of the man and for the amity Javonte displayed for all he encountered. The earnestness and intensity of his love was infectious to many – especially his adoptive mother MeMe.
The greatest testament to Javonte’s character was how he approached life. Javonte did not let his circumstances, no matter how dire or discouraging, dictate his outlook. Nor did he allow the cards he was dealt be an excuse for a defeatist attitude. Whether on the football field or in the classroom, Javonte strove to realize his dreams and chase his passions and was not afraid of opening his heart to others. The way he conducted himself makes him a beacon of hope and an example to all – to those who have and to those who have not experienced similar hardships and roadblocks. A devoted friend, student and athlete, Javonte is best remembered as a preeminent role model.
Javonte came to know Christ as his Lord and Savior during a Fellowship of Christian Athletes camp over a year ago. We can rest assured that this incredible young man is at peace. Though he has departed this earth, it is not the end of his story – rather it is just the beginning. The seeds of love Javonte planted in the hearts of others will continue to grow and flourish.
Everyone who knew Javonte, from his teachers to his peers, were better for having him in their lives. Javonte is dearly loved and he will be missed.

The family will receive visitors Friday, February 3 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Faith United Baptist Church – 600 Revels Road, Nashville, TN 37297. Wake will occur Saturday, February 4 from 11 a.m. to noon at Faith United Baptist Church, with a funeral service to follow.
