In Memory of Cleo

Tax deductible
The Junior Activities Committee (JAC) at The Skating Club of Boston has set-up a Go Fund Me page to raise funds to name a seat in the Club's new training center in memory of one of its Co-Chairs, Cleo Theodoropulous, who recently passed away from Ewing's sarcoma.

Cleo was just 16, and a junior at Belmont High School. She began skating with the Club at The Skating Academy, and was a novice-level competitor. Cleo was also incredibly active in the Club community, and was a two-time co-chair of the JAC, a teaching assistant with The Skating Academy, and a volunteer with the Club’s therapeutic skating program. She also assisted the Club management team in organizing birthday parties for members of the public. Cleo also loved performing in the annual ice show, Ice Chips, and in recent years had been a Line Captain for the show, assisting with the production numbers for the younger skaters. Suffice to say, Cleo’s presence will be greatly missed by all whom she touched with her open and generous spirit.

Cleo's friends and members of the JAC want to make sure Cleo's spirit is constantly with them when they take the ice and thought a fitting tribute to Cleo would be to name a seat in her memory at the Club's new training facility being built in Norwood, MA.  Her favorite number was 8. Therefore, the group has decided to fundraise for the number 8 seat to be named in her memory for a cost of $1,000.  Also, it is the JAC’s hope to raise an additional $4,000 to donate in Cleo’s name to Dana-Farber Cancer Center where she was diagnosed and treated. The donation will go towards creating a teen cancer treatment space named in her honor.

Currently, there is a treatment facility space for adult and younger children, but no space currently geared towards the comfort of teen cancer patients who find themselves with younger children or older adults when receiving crucial and life saving treatments. Please join her friends and the JAC to reach their goal of $5,000. Your donation will help to preserve Cleo's name and memory in perpetuity at The Skating Club of Boston where she spent so much time, and at Dana-Farber Cancer Center where hope lives for so many teens receiving cancer treatments.
